These terms govern your use of HeardBack, a job-application tracking service. By creating an account, you agree to them.

What HeardBack is

HeardBack tracks your job applications and, with your explicit permission, watches your connected Gmail inbox(es) to alert you when companies respond. It reads mail; it can never send, delete, or modify it.

Your account

You need a Google account to use HeardBack. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you log and for keeping control of your own Google account. One Gmail inbox can be connected to only one HeardBack account at a time. You must be at least 16 years old.

Acceptable use

Use HeardBack for its intended purpose: tracking your own job applications through your own inboxes. Don't attempt to access other users' data, probe or overload the service, reverse-engineer it to extract others' information, or connect inboxes you don't own or control.

The service is provided "as is"

HeardBack is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In plain terms: we work hard to make it reliable, but we do not guarantee that every job-related email will be detected, that classifications will always be correct, that notifications will always be delivered, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Do not rely on HeardBack as your only means of tracking application deadlines or responses that matter to you. Treat it as a helpful assistant. AI classification in particular can make mistakes; the app is designed to let you correct it, and the final record is always yours to manage.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeardBack and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including missed emails, missed deadlines, missed job opportunities, or incorrect classifications. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Since the service is free, that amount is zero.

Third-party services

HeardBack depends on services we don't control (Google's APIs, hosting and database providers, browser push networks). Outages or changes in those services can affect HeardBack, and their own terms govern your relationship with them.

Termination

You can stop using HeardBack at any time: revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions and/or delete your account in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we will show you a notice in the app before the changes take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
